Zombies, Creatures and Furry Friends Invited to Barrie Farmers Market Costume Contest – Barrie

Ghosts, ghouls and the undead will be hitting the Barrie Farmer’s Market this weekend.
Starting at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, the market will hold a costume contest for adults, children and four-legged friends.
The market has three categories: Best Dressed Animal, Best Zombie, and Best Child Costume.

The market invites people to put on their haunting best makeup and celebrate Halloween like the walking dead.
There will be medals for the winners and some treats.
For those looking for some local delicacies, the market will be open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday at the Hôtel de Ville.
Those looking for other haunting pre-Halloween events can also enjoy Halloween-themed skating and swimming at various recreation and community centers. Information about these locations and times is available on the Barrie.ca website.
The city also sells Halloween swimming and skating passes at 50 cents per pass, good for a free swim or skate for children up to age 14.
Passes are available for purchase until October 31 or while supplies last at the Allandale Recreation Center, East Bayfield Community Center, Peggy Hill Team Community Center, City Hall and Community Center Parkview.
