Zelensky urges Ukrainians to persevere as Putin says Moscow is ready for a long war

KYIV, Ukraine — Air raid sirens sounded across Ukraine on Sunday morning, hours after Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky delivered a provocative Christmas video speech urging his people to stand firm and keep faith in an eventual victory over Russian forces.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has signaled that Moscow remains committed to the war, saying the Russian people are ready to endure a protracted conflict. Mr. Putin recently promised to provide the Russian army with all the means necessary to win the war.
