DON’T DESTROY SKI SLOPES

I have a small request for those who seem to lack common sense and/or consideration for others. If you’re walking along the Ottawa River trails this winter (or anywhere, for that matter) and see cross-country ski trails, please keep your dogs, kids, and especially yourself out. tracks.

For the past few years, a kind soul in the area has voluntarily maintained cross-country trails for those of us who like to use them, and they’re not there for you to walk on and destroy. There’s plenty of room on the trails, between the north and south ski slopes, for you and yours to walk, pull slides, and/or even breakdance, if you really need to.
Hopefully it’s not a huge undertaking for these people. Thanks in advance.

THANK YOU AT THE END OF THE YEAR
At the end of the year, we can be grateful that when the weather is terrible and there is no power, the hydro employees do not have the same mentality as the civil service and apply , say, the waiting times for getting a passport when power is restored . It’s time for the officials to leave their homes – their pajamas must be in tatters.

ETHICAL CHALLENGE
I have spent my entire career in the private sector. Each year, we had to complete and recognize a code of ethics. It clearly stated what was not permitted, and failure to comply with this provision could result in disciplinary action, including dismissal. It is sad that our leaders, especially the Prime Minister, do not follow such a code and think that an apology fixes everything. What’s even sadder is that so many voters (you know who you are) must have the same ethical standards as they continue to elect these same liberal violators.

THE UNACCEPTABLE MR. ALGHABRA
“The current situation with VIA Rail is unacceptable,” chanted our incompetent Minister of Transport about the Christmas travel debacle along Ontario’s mainline railroad. It was the same term he used to describe Toronto Airport’s dud in the summer due to its ArriveCAN and other exaggerated COVID restrictions.
He can track Santa’s successful gift-delivery trip around the world for a Christmas Eve TV commercial cameo, but can’t have Canadians delivered to their destinations for the same holiday.
Justy and his merry ministerial band of incompetent and unethical (himself included) limit Canadians’ carbon emissions while politicians circle the globe. Their unenforced passenger bill of rights is a joke ignored by the travel industry. There are no legislated contingency plans for airlines, trains or buses to deal with extreme situations. Their solution? To close! Shut up!
Winter is coming. Every year. Often harshly. Does Mr. Alghabra find this also “unacceptable”?
Quick, give him a prepared script so he knows what gibberish to spout.
