York Regional Police investigate fatal shooting in Vaughan

York Regional Police Homicide Unit investigators are searching for witnesses after a fatal shooting in Vaughan.

Saturday evening around 8:05 p.m., YRP answered a call at a commercial plaza near the intersection of Highway 27 and Langstaff Road.

Officers located a victim with gunshot wounds, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The « suspect » or « suspects » fled the scene before police arrived, according to a press release from York police.

Investigators do not believe this incident indicates a threat to public safety.

Police are asking any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the incident to come forward. Police are also looking for video surveillance of the area as well as dash cam footage.
