NUSA DUA – US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen met bilaterally with senior officials from Saudi Arabia, Australia, South Africa and Singapore on the sidelines of the Group of 20 (G20) financial meetings in Indonesia, the Treasury Department announced on Saturday.
During the meetings, Yellen condemned the « unprovoked war on Ukraine, which has caused global spillovers in food, energy and other commodities », and encouraged countries to support a ceiling on Russian oil prices to restrict the flow of revenue to its military. , said the Treasury.
She also stressed the importance of taking action at the G20 to address the global food security crisis, he added.
Yellen met with Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed Al-Jadaan, Australian Treasurer Jim Chalmers, South African Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana and Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, the Treasury said.
