Yankees’ Jose Trevino leaves game after being shot in the toe

OAKLAND, Calif. — Jose Trevino was taken out of the Yankees’ 3-2 win over the A’s on Friday night after being pierced in his right big toe by a pitch in the top of the eighth.
Trevino initially stayed in the game and grabbed the bottom of the eighth, but was replaced by Kyle Higashioka in the ninth.
Aaron Boone said the x-rays were negative.
« It’s a big exhale, » Boone said. “I hope it’s something we can manage. We’ll see how it is [Saturday]. You fear the worst when you see it, but hope for the best”
If Trevino isn’t available, shortstop Isiah Kiner-Falefa could be used as an emergency receiver.
