Yankees: Aaron Judge remains with a total of 61 homers this season

NEW YORK — Aaron Judge remained on Saturday with a total of 61 home runs this season, in the New York Yankees’ 8-0 win over the Baltimore Orioles.

One more long ball would allow him to eclipse the mark he shares with Roger Maris in the American.

Thursday marked the 61st anniversary of the circuit that allowed Maris to set the record.

Judge was 0 for 2 (two strikeouts), with two walks. He leads the American with 110 free passes in 2022.

Judge was also hit by a shot on Saturday.

New York scored three runs in the first and four runs in the seventh.

Division champions, the Yankees still have a game to play against the Orioles, before four games in Arlington.

Nestor Cortes (12-4) struck out 12 in seven-and-a-third innings, allowing only one hit.
