Yakuza 3 Remastered will not be available for purchase as a standalone game after the release of Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties next month

Yakuza studio, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, has confirmed that Yakuza 3 Remastered will no longer be available for standalone purchase following the release of Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties next month.

While people who already own the game “will still be able to continue playing it”, “newcomers to the series who want to experience the original version” will only be able to play it if they purchase the entire Yakua Complete Series bundle.

“The release of Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is now less than a month away. Everyone at the studio has poured their hearts into creating this title, and we are truly looking forward to the day when everyone can finally play it,” wrote Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio.

“We also want to express our deep gratitude for the warm support and respectful feedback we receive from communities around the world. While we may not be able to respond to every comment individually, please know that we hear all of your voices.

“We place great importance on staying true to our creative direction and we hope you enjoy the completely new experiences we have envisioned for Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties.

“Those who already own Yakuza 3 Remastered will still be able to continue playing it. For those who are new to the series and want to experience the original version, it will be available with the purchase of the Yakuza Complete Series pack. We hope you also look forward to our future releases. Thank you again for your support and feedback.”

If you’re keen and quick, you can pick up the original Yakuza 3 Remastered for £16 from the PlayStation Store and Steam, £18 from the Xbox Store, or grab a physical copy of Yakuza Remastered Collection, which includes remastered versions of Yakuza 3, 4 and 5.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is scheduled to release on PC, PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2 and latest generation consoles on February 12, 2026.
