WWE’s Vince McMahon Paid $12 Million In Silent Money To Multiple Women, Report Claims

The women, who were all involved with WWE, signed agreements with McMahon that « prohibit them from discussing any legal action against or their relationship with the 76-year-old executive. »

The hush money report, which the Journal said was paid over 16 years, is the latest part of a corporate firestorm for McMahon.

Another Journal report last month said the company’s board was investigating McMahon for agreeing to pay a secret $3 million settlement to a former employee with whom he allegedly had an affair. This woman is one of four people mentioned in the new report.
The long date WWE (WWE) the boss has agreed to step down from his role as chairman and chief executive while the investigation is ongoing.

WWE did not immediately return CNN’s request for comment on this story.

« I have pledged my full cooperation with the special committee’s investigation, and I will do my best to support the investigation, » McMahon said in a statement last month. « I am also committed to accepting the findings and results of the investigation, whatever they may be. »

McMahon’s daughter, Stephanie, is CEO and interim president.

Still, McMahon didn’t shy away from getting noticed: he retained not only his contribution to WWE’s creative content, but his in-ring persona as well. The company said last month that McMahon would continue to appear as its character during matches as the investigation continues.

In fact, McMahon didn’t wait long to re-enter the ring. Just days after the initial report, McMahon appeared on the company’s TV wrestling show « Smackdown, » telling the public he was there to remind them of the four words that make up the « WWE signature. »

“Those four words are ‘then’, ‘now’, ‘forever’, and the most important word is ‘together’,” he said. « Welcome to SmackDown! » McMahon then left the ring to the tune of his theme song, « No Chance in Hell ».
