The Prince of Wales has been requested to offer a witness assertion to a public inquiry a couple of paedophile bishop convicted and jailed for abusing younger males.

Prince Charles has been approached by attorneys performing for the Unbiased Inquiry into Baby Sexual Abuse which is investigating the disgraced bishop Peter Ball.

The previous bishop of Lewes and of Gloucester was despatched to jail for 32 months in 2015 after he admitted abusing 18 youngsters and younger males between the 1970s and 1990s. 

His abuse was first reported to the police in 1992 however costs weren’t introduced and as an alternative Ball accepted a warning and resigned.

The Prince of Wales had exchanged letters with Ball. A separate unbiased inquiry discovered final 12 months that  Ball had exploited his contact with members of the Royal household however discovered no proof that the inheritor to the throne nor every other member of the Royal household had “sought to intervene at any level with the intention to shield or promote Ball”. 

In 2015 Ball’s sentencing listening to heard that the Crown Prosecution Service had obtained 2,000 letters of help for the bishop “together with letters from cupboard ministers and Royal Household” when it was first investigating his crimes in 1992. 

The related member of the royal household was not named.
