Defence spending should be elevated to fight the rise in chemical and organic threats, MPs have advised Theresa Could.
New threats, together with cyber assaults, danger “undermining UK nationwide safety” except the Defence price range is elevated, the Prime Minister has been warned.
In a letter to Theresa Could the heads of the Public Accounts and Defence Committees have stated they’re “involved that new commitments and rising threats means the price range won’t ship all that’s promised”.
Committee Chairs Meg Hillier MP and Rt Hon Dr Julian Lewis MP have written collectively to spotlight their growing issues concerning the extreme budgetary pressures confronted by the Ministry of Defence.
“Such issues should not merely about balancing the books,” the letter warns. “The very actual results of insufficient funding may be seen within the extraordinarily worrying decline in morale amongst our Armed Forces.”
