Winnipeg police identify vehicle of interest in St. Boniface hit-and-run

Winnipeg police say they are searching for a vehicle suspected of being involved in a hit-and-run in St. Boniface on Friday afternoon, leaving a woman seriously injured.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 40s, was taken to hospital in an unstable condition after being struck by a vehicle on Marion and Archibald streets. It was later upgraded to stable.

The intersection was closed as investigators examined the incident site, according to a news release on Sunday. Investigators believe the woman was crossing the intersection when she was struck by a red Dodge Ram truck traveling northbound.

The vehicle has not yet been found, the statement said, and the department’s traffic division continues to investigate.

Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-7085.
