Windsor residents delighted with Zellers return

The Hudson’s Bay Company is reviving the Zellers brand and the people of Windsor are nostalgic for its return.
Most stores from the original iteration were closed in 2013, but some were kept as liquidation stores.
« I think it’s very exciting, » Lisanne Tudor said. « It brings back good memories. I hope they bring the food back too because they always had a nice little restaurant there. »
« It was a fun place to go with the family, » said Tricia Sisson. « You could have a nice break, especially in this back-to-school shopping season, you didn’t have to wait at the food court. »
Donna Rivait is happy to learn of the return.
« It was convenient and the prices were right, » Rivait said. « It would be nice to see him back. »
CBC News asked Windsor residents if they remember Zellers mascot Zeddy.
« He is aging better than me, » Judy Cornies said. « It seems good. »
Hudson’s Bay Company said the relaunch will be focused on e-commerce, but there will be a physical footprint in select HBC stores.
It is unclear whether the HBC outlet at Devonshire Mall will be one of the chosen stores.
