At the same time, an advisory was also in effect for Barry’s Bay-Killaloe and Renfrew-Arnprior-Calabogie west of Ottawa and Prescott-Russell east of the nation’s capital.

Just before 5:30 p.m., the weather agency also issued a “severe thunderstorm watch” advisory for PEtawawa-Pembroke-Cobden.

The advisory said meteorologists were tracking a severe thunderstorm “capable of producing very strong wind gusts, including hail and heavy rain”.
