Walmart and Target show divergence over companies’ abortion coverage

Employees of Target Corp. have access to health insurance plans that broadly cover abortion. walmart health plans do not cover an abortion unless the mother’s health is in danger or the fetus cannot survive birth.
The policies of rival retailers highlight the extent of coverage of America’s largest employers, whose health plans have become more specific since last week, when the Supreme Court struck down the constitutional right to abortion and left the question of its legality to the States. Target is one of the companies adding a benefit that covers travel costs for abortions. Walmart says it’s reviewing its abortion coverage.
