Video obtained by the Star captures the chilling moment a woman was pushed onto the TTC subway tracks at Bloor-Yonge station on Sunday night.
The footage was not released by the TTC or the police.
It shows a woman standing near the edge of the subway platform and looking into the tunnel. Another woman facing the opposite direction approaches her and uses both hands to push her onto the rails. The victim lands on the rail below.
The incident happened around 9 p.m. According to the police, the victim was seriously injured in the fall, but escaped from the path of the metro by passing under the overhang of the station platform. The suspect was seen fleeing west on Bloor Street West.
On Monday night, police arrested Edith Frayne, 45, at Finch Tube Station. She faces one count of attempted murder.
Frayne made a brief court appearance Tuesday morning by phone from 55th Division custody. A publication ban has been imposed, prohibiting the sharing of details discussed in court until the accused is released or the trial is completed.
She will be back in court next Wednesday.
