A newly resurfaced video shows former Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA), a potential candidate for California governor, swearing at a staffer while recording a meeting with the Biden administration.
Obtained by Policy On Wednesday, the video shows Porter speaking with former Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm in July 2021, before cursing out a staffer for intervening to correct her on a policy detail.
“Get the fuck out of my fucking mind!” Porter yelled at the staff member in the video.
When the employee corrected a detail of the policy, Porter responded, “Okay. You were also in my range before this. Stay out of my line of sight.”
The discovered video comes just days after a video went viral of Porter threatening to walk out of an interview with a California affiliate of CBS News, according to Policy.
“I don’t want to have an unhappy experience with you, and I don’t want any of this to be caught on camera,” Porter told the reporter.
Porter released a statement Wednesday saying the video shows her holding herself and her “staff to a high standard.”
“It’s no secret I hold myself and my staff to high standards, and that was especially true as a member of Congress,” Porter said. Policy. “I sought to more intentionally show gratitude to my staff for their important work. »
Policy did not identify the staff member for privacy reasons.
“For years, Porter faced accusations that she was a difficult boss or abusive to her employees during her time in Congress, as well as unrelated domestic disputes,” the outlet noted.
