The tribute concert – the first of two, with the second scheduled for September 27 in Los Angeles – featured an all-star lineup that included Travis Barker, Queen’s Roger Taylor, Police’s Stewart Copeland, AC/DC’s Brian Johnson , Krist from Nirvana Novoselic and many more.

There were some pretty emotional moments, like when Grohl’s voice cracked while paying homage to his late bandmate. But the real moment that touched the heartstrings came when Hawkins’ 16-year-old son Shane got behind the drums and skillfully performed “My Hero.”
The shows aim to “bring together several” artists idolized by Hawkins with “the Hawkins family and of course his Foo Fighters brothers to celebrate Taylor’s memory and his legacy as a global rock icon,” reads a statement from press for concerts. “His bandmates and inspirations playing the songs he fell in love with and those he brought to life.”
