Undefeated MMA prospect killed in violent home invasion – RT Sport News

Tanner Marlow, an undefeated American mixed martial arts fighter, was killed in a violent home invasion in California on December 24.

The 4-0 light heavyweight, who had fought for feeder league UFC Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA), was reportedly at home when a gunman, later identified as Jacob Malena, attempted to enter the property.

Marlow was also equipped with a gun and both men died in an ensuing shootout.

Local reports said Malena was trying to force their way into the property, where his ex-girlfriend was staying. She was unharmed during the incident.

Marlow had only fought professionally four times during his budding mixed martial arts career and was last seen in the cage in June, when he picked up a second-round TKO victory over another prospect. undefeated Joel Guzman to further his growing reputation in the sport. It was Marlow’s first fight in just under three years.

His fighting nickname was « The American Psycho » – the same nickname used by UFC Hall of Fame fighter Stephan Bonnar, who coincidentally died two days before Marlow from suspected heart problems.
