Ukraine requests anti-missile systems

Ukraine has asked its Western partners to increase their military support following the bombardments of 10 and 11 October. “Air defense is currently the number one priority of our defense cooperation,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Twitter.

Germany sent to Ukraine on Tuesday, October 11 a first Iris-T air defense system, capable of defending a large city. Three more are to be delivered in 2023.

US President Joe Biden also promised to provide “advanced systems” anti-aircraft defense.
