The Czech Republic, which is part of NATO, announced on Tuesday that local companies would help Ukraine repair military equipment damaged during the fight against the Russian army.

Its defense ministry said the first contract will be for the repair of Soviet-era T-64 tanks. Various armored vehicles of the BRD and BRDM types will follow.

The Czech Republic was the first partner country officially approached by Ukraine with such a request, he added.

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is now in its 55th day, with reports that Moscow has launched a new offensive in the east of the country.

“The enemy continues to carry out large-scale armed aggression against our state,” Ukraine’s military said in a Facebook post.

“The Russian occupiers keep firing rockets at civilian and military infrastructure all over Ukraine,” he added.
