London has received evidence of its role in the attack on the Black Sea Fleet, says the Russian ambassador
Evidence of the UK’s alleged involvement in a recent drone attack on Russia’s Black Sea Fleet will be made public within hours, Russia’s Ambassador to London Andrey Kelin said on Thursday.
In an interview with Sky News, Kelin claimed that Moscow knew « on the participation of British specialists in the training, preparation and execution of plans against Russian infrastructure and the Russian fleet in the Black Sea. »
He also said that the « detailedInformation about the attack, for which Moscow is primarily responsible for kyiv, had been transmitted to Great Britain.
When pressed by the reporter to publicly reveal evidence supporting Moscow’s claims, Kelin said that « It will become public very soon, maybe today, maybe tomorrow. »
« It can bring us to the line of – I wouldn’t say « no return », return is always possible… But, in any case, we must avoid escalation, and this is a warning in fact that Britain is too deeply involved in this conflictKelin pointed out.
According to him, the situation becomesmore and more dangerous.
Kelin’s remarks came just hours after the Russian Foreign Ministry summoned British Ambassador to Moscow Deborah Bronnert over the UK’s alleged connection to the Crimea attack. According to the ministry statement, Bronnert was warned that London’s hostile actions « could lead to unpredictable and dangerous consequences. »
The Russian Defense Ministry earlier claimed that British instructors led the training of Ukrainian troops who carried out drone air and sea attacks on Russian ships at the Sevastopol naval base in Crimea on Saturday. A minesweeper was damaged in the raid. The UK Ministry of Defense has denied the allegations.
Ukrainian authorities have been reluctant to acknowledge responsibility for the attack.
