UK heatwave sends record high temperatures

LONDON—The United Kingdom tentatively recorded its highest ever temperature on Tuesday, with a reading of over 40 degrees Celsius, the equivalent of 104 degrees Fahrenheit, at London’s Heathrow Airport.

If confirmed, it would be the first time the country has recorded temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius, according to the country’s meteorological service, which has warned that temperatures in the UK continue to climb.
