Tyler Toffoli could be having a blast this year
The arrival of Jonathan Huberdeau with the Calgary Flames should allow some of his new teammates to offer improved offensive production, starting with Tyler Toffoli.

The former Montreal Canadiens color holder will begin his first full season with the Alberta team, having been acquired during the last campaign. Like the rest of the hockey world, he took note of the important transaction concluded this summer by the Flames, which obtained Huberdeau from the Florida Panthers.
However, the Quebecer may well have plenty of time to get to know Toffoli, because the two men have a good chance of finding themselves in a trio completed by Elias Lindholm. If the organization’s new acquisition continues on the path that allowed it to collect 85 assists last year, its partners will surely be delighted.
« I played a bit with ‘Lindy’ last year and quite a bit on the power play, so I know him well. And obviously, Hubie is a great player. Even before the start of camp, seeing him head out on the ice, you could see that he is quite a skater and a good guy. This is a great opportunity to grow with a major game manufacturer. He had a great year and this is a great opportunity for me,” Toffoli told the Calgary Sun.
Nevertheless, the one who scored 20 goals in 74 games during the most recent season suspects that everything will not be perfect. It will take a little patience to get it all up.
« I think there will be ups and downs, like everything else, » he said. We will have to take the time and try to get used to each other on certain points and small games. We’ll move on from there. »
Not too difficult
Despite the change of scenery in 2021-2022, the veteran does not seem to have had too much trouble finding his bearings at Flames camp. He does not anticipate any obstacles in this regard either at the start of the campaign.
“Honestly, the transition wasn’t too complicated, knowing more than half of the guys here already. I think being here and being able to play with them to work properly is exciting. We all are, in my opinion, he said. For my part, I experienced the first real summer in almost four years. Consequently, arriving at the camp, I took advantage of an additional advantage for the following stage. I feel my best and I’m excited for what’s next. »
