Two men in their twenties were arrested and charged after the armed attack in Outremont on the night of November 5.
Olivier Ledezma Theron, 25, has been charged with second degree murder, while Nils Ovesson, 21, faces one count of manslaughter. The two men appeared by videoconference Thursday at the Montreal courthouse in connection with the death of 19-year-old Philippe André Graton.
According to the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), Mr. Graton was stabbed after an altercation between several individuals. He was taken to hospital in critical condition, but succumbed to his injuries.
As he is accused of murder, Olivier Ledezma Theron will remain detained until further notice. On the other hand, Nils Ovesson, will return to court next week to set a date for an investigation into his release.
