Twitter and Elon Musk discuss legal preparations as trial date nears

Twitter and Elon Musk continue to jockey for preliminary legal benefit ahead of a trial over their $44 billion marriage, as the presiding judge signaled she wants the case to remain focused on the contractual agreement between the two parties .

As the Oct. 17 trial date nears in a Delaware court, both sides’ legal teams are building their cases through expert reports and sworn testimony. Co-founder and former CEO of Twitter Jack Dorsey and Jared Birchal, head of Mr. Musk’s family office, were due to be interviewed by lawyers last week. Lawyers for Twitter had offered to depose Mr. Musk from Monday, but his interview was pushed back while lawyers work out their plans, according to people familiar with the matter.
