“In this situation where we are in pain and grief concerning the loss of our loved ones, the public meeting program of our party leader for the next two weeks is temporarily postponed,” said the TVK Party HQ declaration.
“We will inform you of the approval of our party leader that the new details concerning this public meeting will be announced later,” he added.

Karur Mortel Rally
A Vijay TVK rally in Karur on September 27 became fatal after a stampede. The total number of deaths in the accident amounts to 41, which includes many women and children.
About 60 people declared themselves injured and received medical treatments at Karur Government Medical College and Hospital.
Police filed business against three party members and investigates the case.
TVK approached the High Court of Madras looking for an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) alleging a conspiracy and incidents of stone peak and police brutality during the public rally, declaring that such a situation had led to the rush.
