After some Republicans criticized the NFL for choosing Bad Bunny to headline the 2026 Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show, a conservative organization is now looking to have its own “All American” show.
Turning Point USA, a right-wing political advocacy organization founded by the late Charlie Kirk, announced Thursday that it will host its own performance on football’s biggest night on Sunday, Feb. 8, which will likely be streamed online.
“A HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT That’s right, Turning Point USA is excited to announce the All American Halftime Show,” the organization wrote on social media. “Artists and event details will be available soon.”
Although the artist’s identity has not been revealed, House Speaker Mike Johnson previously suggested that 1980s country singer Lee Greenwood would be a good choice for the Super Bowl halftime show.
After it was announced that global superstar and Puerto Rican rapper-singer Bad Bunny would take the stage in February, some conservatives criticized the decision, including President Donald Trump, who called it “absolutely ridiculous.” Johnson also said it was “a terrible decision.”
Bad Bunny has openly criticized the Trump administration’s aggressive immigration policies, condemning ongoing ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) raids across the country. This is also why the artist chose not to include US stops on her Debí Tirar Más Fotos world tour, due to concerns about possible ICE raids during her concerts.
Last week, Bad Bunny addressed the Halftime Show backlash while hosting the Saturday evening live season 51 premiere, saying, “I’m really excited to be at the Super Bowl, I know people around the world who love my music are happy too.”
He added in Spanish during his opening monologue: “Especially all the Latinos and Latinas of the world here in the United States who worked to open the doors,” he said in Spanish. “It’s more than a victory for me, it’s a victory for all of us. Our footprints and our contribution to this country, no one will ever be able to remove or erase them.”
