On Friday, the Trump administration was $ 2.1 billion in financing from the Ministry of Transport for two projects to improve the Chicago public transport system.

The dowry in a press release blamed the two Democratic leaders of the Congress – Senator Chuck Schumer and the representative Hakeem Jeffries – for the closure of the federal government, who, according to the ministry, would slow an examination of Chicago projects to ensure that they do not involve “unconstitutional practices” linked to the breed or sex of construction workers.

This statement has echoed a subject of discussion on the Trump administration that Democrats in the Congress refuse to vote for a short -term financing agreement that would reopen the government because they insist on providing health care services to “illegal immigrants”.

Democrats call who claim a lie designed to distract their objective of pursuing the supply of improved grants from the health insurance plan for the affordable care law to more than 20 million Americans.

“At a time when federal agents sowed chaos in Chicago, the Trump administration is organizing a bipartite funding hostage,” said Illinois Governor JB Pritzker in an article on social networks on X after the dowry announcement.

“He tries to score political points, but rather hurts our economy and the working people who rely on public transport to go to work or to school,” wrote Pritzker, who, like the mayor of Chicago, Brandon Johnson, is a democrat.

Johnson, in a statement, said: “Argentina obtains $ 20 billion and the southern side receives nothing. What happened first to America?” The mayor’s comment referred to a Trump administration agent to strengthen the economy of spraying Argentina with a line of credit of $ 20 billion, and a Chicago district based on one of the projects to improve public transport.

“South Siders have waited for more than 50 years for the extension of the red line,” said Johnson, referring to a project that would extend this 5.5 mile train line with four new stations.

“This project will bring 25,000 jobs in the Chicago region and billions of new developments. The Red Line extension is the largest investment in the far south of a generation,” he said.

“Just when we are finally on the verge of the future, Trump has just cut funding,” said Johnson. “From public security to public education, including public transport, this president reduces the services on which workers count.”

Friday morning, director of the management and budget office, Russell Vought announced freeze on Chicago projects.

It was the third time in recent days that he has revealed financing actions of the Trump administration targeting cities and states led by Democrats.

President Donald Trump and republican legislators blamed Democrats at the Congress for the closure, who struck his third day on Friday.

Trump said Thursday that the closure had given him an “unprecedented opportunity” to reduce what he called “Democratic agencies”.

Wednesday, Vought revealed that the Ministry of Transport was frozing $ 18 billion in federal funding for two major infrastructure projects in New York. Schumer and Jeffries come from New York.

Later in the same day, Vought said that the Ministry of Energy had canceled nearly $ 8 billion in financing for climate -related projects and other efforts in 16 states, all won by Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the 2024 elections.

Friday, Vought, in an article on X, wrote: “2.1 billion dollars in Chicago infrastructure projects – in particular the extension of the red line and the red and purple modernization project – were suspended to ensure that funding does not circulate via breed -based contracts.”

The two projects are supervised by the Chicago Transit Authority, which operates the city’s train and bus system.

The red and purple modernization project reconstructs the infrastructure along these color train lines.

The United States dowry later Friday, said: “This week, the USDOT published a final rule (IFR) intermediary with the exception of contract requirements according to the breed and the sex of federal subsidies.”

“To continue the implementation of this rule, USDOT has now sent letters to the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) to inform them that” the two CTA projects “are also in administrative examination to determine whether unconstitutional practices occur,” said the dowry.

The dowry in its press release indicates that the freezing on chicago money “is added to the criticisms of the Metro projects in the second avenue de New York and the Hudson tunnel,” said the department. “Illinois, like New York, is well known for promoting contracts based on race and sex and other racial preferences as public policy.”

The dowry also said that the Americans “do not care about the construction workers, the race or the gender, the pipes or the electricians. They just want these massive projects to be built quickly and efficiently”.

“Unfortunately, Chuck Schumer’s decision and Hakeem Jeffries to close the government negatively affected the ministry’s personnel resources to carry out this important analysis,” the ministry said.

“We urge Democrats to the Congress to stop holding the hostage of the federal government’s budget so that the USDOT can resume the important work of the American people,” said the dowry.

“The advantages for illegal immigrants are not worth the potential impacts on significant investments in the transport infrastructure of our country,” said the ministry.
