Tropical storm Jerry formed on Tuesday on tropical waters in the central Atlantic Ocean, said National Hurricane Center. It is the 10th named Storm of the Hurricane season 2025.
The newly developed system was far from the land when the Hurricane Center published its first opinion for Jerry at 11 a.m. he. The forecasters said that the storm was more than 1,300 miles in the east-east of the north-oneward islands, the Caribbean chain east of Puerto Rico which begins with the Virgin Islands and extends to Guadeloupe.
Jerry had maximum sustained winds of 50 MPH while he followed west at 23 MPH across the ocean open Tuesday evening, according to the forecasters. It was expected to strengthen regularly in the coming days and ended up becoming a hurricane.
A tropical storm watch was in force for the Caribbean islands of Barbuda, Anguilla, St. Barthelemy, Saint Martin and Sint Maarten.

On his forecasting track, Jerry should be close or north of the Northern Leewards on Thursday or Friday, the Hurricane Center said. Although the storm is not currently supposed to shoot land, the swells it generates will likely reach the islands on Thursday, causing current surfing and rip currents, according to the latest opinion.
It should bring up to 4 inches of rain in the downwind, said the Hurricane center, including the risk of sudden flood.
