Toronto Raptors land free agent Otto Porter Jr.: report


The Raptors’ first move to increase their roster is a big one.

According a report by Chris Haynes of Yahoo SportsToronto has agreed to a free agent contract with forward Otto Porter Jr., who joins the Raptors after a championship run with the Golden State Warriors.

Porter, an eight-year NBA veteran, is the Raptors’ prototype player: a 6-foot-8 all-around wing that has a wingspan of more than seven feet.

The 29-year-old St. Louis native is also an effective three-point shooter who made 37% of his long-range shots with the Warriors last season and is a 40% career three-point shooter. .

The terms of the deal are unclear. The Yahoo Sports report indicates that it will be a two-year contract; Porter only earned $2.4 million with the Warriors last season.
