Toronto police are looking for a suspect after a woman was strangled, punched, forcibly restrained and had her cell phone taken before she could escape her attacker.

Police said the woman called them for help on February 14, but by the time officers arrived at Don Mills-York Mills Rds. area where the alleged attack took place, the attacker escaped.

Poilice said on June 27, officers responding to a call for medical assistance in the Leslie St.-Finch Ave. E., found an unconscious man in the driver’s seat of a stolen vehicle.

Police alleged the man was treated by Toronto paramedics but fled when he regained consciousness.

Police have released a photo of their suspect, Kamba Taban, 28, of Toronto, wanted on charges of firearms and assault.

Police said he was armed and dangerous and are urging people to call 911 – and not approach him – if they spot him.
