Toronto blocks McMaster football team from making playoffs – Hamilton

The McMaster Marauders football team will sit out the Ontario University Sport playoffs for the second straight season after Saturday’s 13-10 loss to the University of Toronto.
McMaster led 10-9 at halftime thanks to a 15-yard touchdown pass from QB Andreas Dueck to receiver Nicholas Adair at 9:02 of the first quarter, and a 10-yard field goal from kicker Michael Horvat.
The Varsity Blues responded with three Samuel Henke field goals from 27, 18 and 11 yards.
Toronto scored the only points of the second half, both from third-quarter safeties, to seal the win.
It was McMaster’s first loss to the University of Toronto since September 21, 1996, a 26-year span.
Mac finished the 2022 OUA football season with a 2-6 record, the first time the Marauders have finished with a record below 500 since 1997. This year also marked the last time McMaster failed to make the playoffs in eight games.
