Tom Hanks Says He’s Only Made Four « Really Good » Movies


Although he’s starred in at least 85 movies throughout his illustrious career, Tom Hanks thinks only four of those movies are « pretty good. »

The two-time Oscar winner, 66, is considered one of Hollywood’s greatest actors, but insists only a few films he’s made in the past 30 years are truly good.

The actor made the revelation to People while promoting his debut novel « The Making of Another Major Motion Picture Masterpiece, » which is slated for release in May 2023.

« Nobody knows how a movie is made – even if everyone thinks they know, » he told the outlet.

« I’ve done a ton of movies, and four of them are pretty good, I think, and I’m always amazed at how the movies come together. From the flicker of an idea to the flicker of an image at the screen, the whole process is a miracle.”

Hanks did not disclose which of the four films he was referring to.

The actor first burst onto the scene in the 1980s, when he landed roles in ‘Splash!’, ‘The ‘Burbs’ and ‘Big’ – for which he received an Oscar nomination.

But her life changed forever after she won her first Oscar in 1994 for ‘Philadelphia’. He won another Oscar the following year for his role in « Forrest Gump. »

He was nominated three more times over the following years.

The actor’s other notable credits include two films « Toy Story », « You’ve Got Mail », « Catch Me If You Can », « The Green Mile », « Saving Private Ryan », « Cast Away » and » Road To Perdition. »

Most recently, Hanks appeared in Baz Lurhmann’s « Elvis » alongside Austin Butler.
