Three-vehicle accident near Aylmer kills one man and seriously injures another

An accident on Monday on Route 148 near Gatineau killed one person and injured another, MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais police said in a statement.

The collision, which involved three vehicles, occurred around 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Route 148 and McCaffrey Road, just after the border with the Aylmer district of Gatineau.
The victim was Daniel Pilon, 57, of Rawdon, Quebec. He had been living in Ottawa for some time, police added.
One of the other drivers had multiple broken bones but was expected to survive, police said.
The police investigation continued on Tuesday. MRC police said they were looking for possible witnesses to the collision as well as anyone who had been in contact with Pilon in the past few days.
