« They really can’t let her speak in public »

Vice President Kamala Harris faced another round of teasing after touting her love of “yellow school buses” during her appearance in Seattle on Wednesday.
Harris spoke at Lumen Field in Seattle against the backdrop of four electric school buses to announce that nearly $1 billion has been awarded to school districts to replace older buses with electric vehicles. This funding came in part from the bipartisan Infrastructure Bill passed in 2021.
During his speech, Harris commented on nostalgia for a « yellow school bus. »
“Who doesn’t love a yellow school bus, right? Can you raise your hand if you like a yellow school bus? Many of us went to school on the yellow school bus, didn’t we? It is part of our experience growing up. It’s part of a nostalgia, a memory of the excitement and joy of going to school to be with your favorite teacher, to be with your best friends and to learn. The school bus takes us there,” she said.
Those comments were mocked on Twitter as another example of the vice president’s embarrassing moments.
« The Democrats hid Kamala but she just had a press conference and talked about the yellow school buses and my god they really can’t let her talk about anything in public, » the host of the show tweeted. Clay Travis Radio.
“Okay, I changed my mind about Fetterman,” joked Spectator editor Stephen Miller.
CNN contributor Mary Katherine Ham also joked, « Please sing Wheels on the Bus, please sing Wheels on the Bus. »
« Selina Meyer, » tweeted Federalist author Eddie Scarry, referring to Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ character in the HBO comedy « Veep. »
Philadelphia radio host Rich Zeoli wrote, “Internal monologue: don’t prank, don’t prank.

Republican activist Matthew Foldi tweeted: « Find someone who loves you as much as Kamala Harris loves Venn diagrams and yellow school buses. »
President Biden was also mocked on Twitter on Wednesday for a speech about inflation and his plan to cut the costs of « junk fees » for families. During his speech, Biden suggested that paying for more spacious airplane seats was one of those « unwanted fees » that targeted « people of color » the most.
« Some airlines, if you want six inches more between you and the seat in front, you pay more money. But you don’t know that until you buy your ticket. Look, folks, these are unwanted fees, they are unfair and they hit marginalized Americans the hardest, especially low-income people and people of color,” Biden said.
Harris has been torn multiple times on social media for various gaffes and unusual mannerisms. Although the mainstream media largely ignored these cases, Comedy Central’s « The Daily Show » poked fun at Harris with a satirical video comparing her to the title character of « Veep » in early October.
