The Weeknd delights fans as he returns to Toronto after postponing concert due to massive Rogers outage

The Weeknd returned to his hometown of Toronto for an epic show at Rogers Center on Thursday night.

The Canadian hitmaker was forced to cancel his Toronto ‘After Hours til Dawn’ tour in July due to Rogers’ nationwide network outage.

He thrilled fans as he took the stage for the first of two shows, belting out a string of hits including “Can’t Feel My Face”, “I Feel It Coming”, “Starboy” and “Blinding Lights”.

The Weeknd, who was born in Scarborough, recalled his early career during the gig.

He recalls, “My first show in Toronto—my very first show—was [the] ModClub [in] 2011.

“Now we’re doing the SkyDome back to back,” added the singer, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye.

Rogers’ breakdown was just one of many setbacks Tesfaye’s tour faced.

Her first act Doja Cat was once forced to pull out of shows to undergo tonsil surgery, before a big fire broke out outside her show in Las Vegas.

Tesfaye then lost her voice in the middle of her concert in Los Angeles and had to cut the show earlier this month. See more in the clip below.
