The Weeknd cancels concert after settling vocal issues

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Weeknd suddenly ended his sold-out concert in Southern California after losing his voice during a mid-song performance.

The four-time Grammy winner was performing his third song “Can’t Feel My Face” before abruptly ending his show on Saturday at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. He then left the stage, eventually returned, and told the audience that he had lost his voice.

On stage, The Weeknd apologized for canceling the show and promised the audience a refund.

“I’ll make sure everyone is okay, you’ll get your money back,” he told the crowd. “But I’m going to do a show very soon for you guys.”

The singer added, “I can’t give you what I want to give you.”

The weekend continued social media to explain that he is devastated after his “voice died out” during the first song.

“I felt it go and my heart sank,” he wrote. “My sincere apologies to my fans here. I promise to catch up with you with a new date.

The next scheduled tour date for the “After Hours Til Dawn” tour is September 22 in Toronto.
