the secretary general of the Elysée suspected of having « participated » in decisions on MSC

The secretary general of the Elysée Alexis Kohler, indicted for « illegal taking of interest » in September, is suspected of having « participated » as a senior official, between 2009 and 2016, in decisions relating to the shipowner MSC, according to elements of his interrogation of which AFP became aware on Tuesday. However, Alexis Kohler was the financial director of the company, founded and managed by his mother’s cousins, the Aponte family.

According to these elements, the investigating magistrates reproach him in particular for having « persisted », between 2012 and 2016 in Bercy in the cabinets of Pierre Moscovici then Emmanuel Macron, « to issue opinions or give strategic orientations » on files “involving the MSC group”. The interested party disputed any “conflict of interest”.
