The meteorite that has torn the roof of the owner of Georgia is 20 million more than the earth, says the scientist

A meteorite What tore the roof of a house in Georgia earlier this summer is older than the land itself, according to a scientist who examined the fragments of the space rock.

A mysterious fireball flambé in the sky in broad daylight on June 26, causing hundreds of observation reports in Georgia and South Carolina. According to NASA, the meteor has exploded on Georgia, creating booms heard by residents of the region.

The planetary geologist of the University of Georgia, Scott Harris, said on Friday in a press release which he had examined 23 grams of meteorite fragments recovered from a piece of the size of a cherry tomato which struck the roof of a man like a ball and left a bump in the ground of the house outside of Atlanta.

“This particular meteor which has entered the atmosphere has a long history before going to McDonough’s ground,” he said.

By examining the microscopic fragments, Harris concluded that the meteorite formed 4.56 billion years ago. It is about 20 million years longer than the earth.

“It is up to a group of asteroids in the main asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter that we now think that we can attach to a much larger asteroid rupture about 470 million years ago,” said Harris.

The owner told Harris that he still found space dust stains around his salon collision.

Harris said that scientists and colleagues at the Arizona State University University planned to submit their conclusions to the nomenclature committee of the Meteoritic Society. They offer to name the rock space the McDonough meteorite, reflecting the name of the city of Georgia where it plunged on earth.

According to the university, this is the 27th meteorite recovered in Georgia and the sixth fall observed.

“This is something that expected once every few decades and not several times within 20 years,” said Harris. “Modern technology in addition to an attentive audience will help us recover more and more meteorites.”
