The leaders of Montgomery have new avenues in the investigation into a mass shooting

Montgomery, Alabama (WHNT)-The leaders of Montgomery said on Tuesday that they had new tracks in the investigation into a shooting this weekend. This shooting has cost the lives of two people and injured 12 others.

The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to public security in the capital.

“We all come for you,” said Montgomery police chief James Graboys. “We will not rest. We will not give in as long as we will not have you.”

Graboys said there had been no additional deaths among people whose life was in danger. He explained that the city worked with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the FBI and the ATF.

“This is an investigation in which we plan that several people who are most likely will be the subject of accusations,” said Graboys.

The mayor of Montgomery, Steven Reed, said that he had been in contact with the Governor’s office.

“For me, it’s personal to go to the bottom of things,” said Reed. “For me, it’s personal and it is to make sure that our city – my hometown, our hometown – is considered one of the safest.”

Cornelius “CC” Calhoun, president of the Montgomery municipal council, said that the establishment of a curfew for unaccompanied minors aged 17 and under would make the city safer.

“Because we know nature. There are many young people who commit many of these crimes that occur in this city,” said Calhoun. “We therefore examine the question and you also want parents to be held responsible. This is part of the problem. The responsibility for your home.”

In a press release, ALEA said it would continue to coordinate closely with managers of the City and County Laws of Montgomery to align efforts, strengthen response capacities and guarantee a strong and united front against criminal activities.
