In the case of Grundström, he will extend his stay in California for the next two years, which will pocket him, at the same time, $ 2.6 million in total, confirmed the Kings. For his part, Lias Andersson could become a restricted free agent again at the end of the 2022-2023 campaign, because his contract is only for a period of one year and is worth $750,000.
Grundström was acquired from the Toronto Maple Leafs, who selected the Swede in the second round (57e in total) of the 2015 draft, in the transaction involving, among others, defenseman Jake Muzzin. In 129 games on the Bettman circuit, all with the Kings, the 24-year-old has amassed 36 points.
Andersson was a first-round pick (seventh overall) of the New York Rangers in 2017. He was traded to the Kings for a 2020 second-round pick in October of that year. the. In 109 NHL games, split between these two teams, Andersson has blacked the scoresheet only 17 times.
