The EPS excludes the return of the OPS and congratulates the center led by the BJP for having “protected” the AIADMK government earlier

The chief of the AIADMK, Edappadi K Palaniswami, excluded the possibility of a reintegration of expelled leaders like O Painterselvam, saying that those who have “betrayed” the party has no place there.

This comes when some leaders, including veteran Ka Sengottaiyan, call for reunification.

He also praised the Center led by the BJP, saying that he “protected the AIADMK government (in 2017) when some people tried to overthrow him”. The Palaniswami closure of the Porteerselvam doors and another expelled leader, TTV DHINAKARAN, occurred one day when the deposed party leader, VK Sasikala, and Sengottaiyan were fighting for the reunification of AIADMK factions before the 2026 elections.

Referring to information published in a media section which claimed that he met the Minister of the Interior of the Union, Amit Shah, to discuss the internal problems of the AIADMK, he said that this news was reported after the party has postponed the campaign calendar in progress to Dharmapuri due to high rains forecasts.

He said that “no one can harm the AIADMK”. “Let me say it, write it. More than power, self-respect is more important for us. I will not make the slightest compromise in this regard,” he said.

The old CM was addressed to a meeting here to commemorate the birthday of the birth of the Dravidian and late chief minister, CN Annadurai.

He accused some people of having tried to create disorders within the AIADMK with the help of a “larbin” now identified. “Soon it will end.” “Some voted against the AIADMK government to overthrow it. We have forgiven them and named them CM deputies. But he does not seem to have changed. He attacked the AIADMK party office which is like a temple,” Palaniswami said, referring to Panteerselvam (OPS).

OPS, who rebelled against Sasikala, then chief of the AIADMK, after the death of CM J JAYALELITHAA in December 2016, had voted against the government led by PALANISWAMI during the 2017 vote of confidence. His supporters would also have vandalized the party’s seat here in July 2022, before a general party of the party who had expelled him, as well as his supporters.

A visibly aggressive Palaniswami has excluded any approach.

“Do you want others to be enthroned again in the party? AIADMK is the asset of workers. Another person – you have removed 18 deputies from our party to overthrow the AIADMK government. They want to be included in the party. Who will accept this?” He said, in a veiled reference to Dhinakaran, with whom 18 dissident deputies of the AIADMK rose to the side when Palaniswami was CM.

“I grew up as a member of the party. I am determined, I will not be intimidated, I cannot be it. Until now, in the past also, under the reign of AIADMK and today, those of the center have never threatened us. For us, they did good. After the death of Amma, some tried to swallow the party, tried to overthrow us? protected. Added.

Under the fire of the criticisms of the DMK in power for its alignment on the BJP, the EPS, as Palaniswami is sent, said that such pacts are concluded on the basis of a strategy aimed at defeating the enemy. He underlined the DMK alliance with the BJP in 1999 and 2001. “They remained silent at the time. Now they target us for fear of losing the elections (2026).” He recalled Jayalalithaa’s previous comments that the AIADMK would prosperate a century after her.

“Today, some people are trying to pledge the AIADMK. We must all unite to prevent this. Whoever betrays the party will find himself blocked on the road, will lose his address. This is a party created for the poor, not for a family.” “Anyone can reach peaks in this party, like me. This can happen to the DMK. AIADMK is a democratic party. God will not forgive anyone to betray him,” he added. Pti
