The cracks emerge in India Bloc at Bihar as congress, RJD Spar on the seats and the face CM

Tensions increase between Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) while disagreements on the sharing of seats and chief ministerial face for the next assembly elections is intensifying.

Given the public’s response to the voter of the deputy for the Congress Rahul Gandhi, Adhikar Yatra, the party asks to challenge 70 seats – the same number he fought in the 2020 polls, where he won only 19. The RJD would not be willing to concede that many seats, Hindustan Times cited the sources.

RJD Supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav intervened to manage talks. The report indicates that he had asked the congress to submit his list of candidates, indicating that the party will probably be offered 50 to 52 seats during this election.

“It is not only a question of figures; it is a question of avoiding triangular competitions in our main fields. If we do not solve this, it will be a cake for the NDA,” a chief of the RJD told HT.

The leader added that the increased number of small parties in the Alliance this time means that RJD will have to abandon part of its own part to accommodate allies.

In addition, the Congress would have pushed to contest 20 to 25 seats in the Bastions of the RJD, insisting on a good mixture of circumscriptions winning and difficult. Party leaders have clearly indicated that they will not be satisfied with “unexpected” seats “.

The report indicates that the Congress also requested the post of deputy minister in case the alliance is gaining – especially if it is forced to settle for fewer seats. This request, as well as those of small allies, have still complicated talks.

Among these allies:

  • The VIP of Mukesh Sahani also claimed the post of assistant CM.
  • CPI (ML), which disputed 19 seats and won 12 in 2020, now requires 40 to 45 seats.
  • JMM and RLJP (led by Pashupati Kumar Paras) are in active talks with RJD.
  • Aimim, who won five seats the last time, approached RJD to enter the alliance.

A key coordination meeting of the block in India is later scheduled for this week in Patna, where managers aim to finalize a “feasible” seats sharing formula. “The talks will end by the last week of September,” journalists told the secretary general of the ICC (ML), Dipankar Bhattacharya.

The congress also called its own meeting on September 19 in New Delhi to develop strategies. Tejashwi Yadav, who launches his Bihar Adhikar Yatra this week, was invited to attend the meeting.

A recent flash point has occurred in Kutumba (Aurangabad), where a meeting of the alliance workers led by the congress was boycotted by local RJD leaders. In response, the RJD held its own separate strategy session under the former Suresh Paswan deputy.

Recently, Krishna Allavaru, in charge of the Bihar, pointed out that the CM side would be decided by the people of the Bihar – a declaration considered as a snob to the push of RJD for Tejashwi Yadav as an official chief candidate of the Alliance. A few days later, Yadav attracted new speculations by declaring: “This time, Tejashwi will dispute the 243 seats …”

In the current assembly of the Bihar of 243 members, the NDA led by the BJP holds 131 seats, while the opposition block controls 111 seats.
