The Armada wins 6-3 and puts an end to the Olympiques’ six-game winning streak
GATINEAU, Que. — Alexis Gendron scored an eighth goal as the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada won 6-3 in Gatineau, ending a six-game winning streak for the Olympiques on Saturday.
Gendron scored in the first period (7:25), like his teammates Zachary Cardinal (4:30) and Alexis Bourque (17:27).
Tye Austin was replaced by Emerik Despatie after Bourque’s goal.
Cardinal threaded the needle of the enclave, on the very first shot of his people. Gendron took advantage of a nice raised pass from Josh Lawrence. Bourque hit the target with a wrist shot, right after a face-off won by Eliot Lallemand.
Mikaël Denis added to the cushion early in the second period, during a brief breakaway.
Alexis Brisson appeared to make it 5-0, but the officials later saw it was offside. Austin was still brought back in front of his own net.
Charles-Edward Gravel made 40 saves, being beaten by Donovan Arsenault, Samuel Savoie and Joey Vetrano.
Félix Larose and Jonathan Fauchon were the other scorers for the Armada, which will play in Drummondville on Sunday.
Gatineau will not play again until Thursday, in Saint-Jean. The trip to New Brunswick will continue to Moncton and Bathurst.
