Sylvain Gaudreault becomes general manager of Cégep de Jonquière

MONTREAL — Former MP and PQ minister Sylvain Gaudreault, who represented the riding of Jonquière for 15 years, has decided to return home to Cégep de Jonquière.

Indeed, this former professor and pedagogical adviser of the educational institution will become its next director general as of December 12.

The announcement was made by the president of the board of directors, Valérie Legendre-Guillemin, in a press release published Wednesday on the college’s website.

“The Cégep de Jonquière is very proud to welcome Mr. Gaudreault back to the organization in his new role. His involvement in the regional and provincial milieu, his in-depth knowledge of the college community combined with his teaching experience as well as his political career will enable our institution of higher education to continue its development on the regional, national and international levels, as much in research than in teaching, » said Ms. Legendre-Guillemin.

Prime Minister François Legault also congratulated him in a brief tweet on Twitter, sharing an article from the daily newspaper Le Soleil which mentions it.

“Bravo Sylvain!” Simply mentions the Premier of Quebec.

As for the principal concerned, he declared that it is with great pride that he accepted this new challenge in “an establishment of higher education recognized for its leadership in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean and in Quebec”.

« Over the next few years, with the help of all the teams in place at the Cégep and the Center d’études collégiales in Charlevoix, I will devote myself unconditionally to the success of all students, to the development of research, to the recruitment and the influence of the organization, » said Sylvain Gaudreault.
