Expect strong winds across Hamilton on Wednesday, starting in the afternoon

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the city.

The weather agency indicates that « westerly winds with gusts of 70 to 80 km / h are expected » from the afternoon and until Wednesday evening « in the wake of a strong cold front » .

According to Environment Canada, « the strongest winds are expected near the eastern shores of the Great Lakes where wind gusts of up to 90 km/h can occur. »

The agency warns that winds can be strong enough to « throw loose objects and cause tree branches to snap. Isolated power outages may occur. »

The forecast calls for 10 to 15 mm of rain tomorrow ending in the early afternoon. The temperature should drop to -2°C in the afternoon.
