States that can redirect before mid-2026

Greg Abbott (R) has signed on to a map that could give Republicans five more congressional seats, and at least seven other states are potential targets for mid-decade map adjustments before the middle. California was the second state to produce a new map, which would counter GOP changes in Texas with five more Democratic-friendly seats if voters approve the plan in a November special election.
