Stabbing of a man in Ville-Marie

A 36-year-old man was the victim of a stabbing attack on Monday evening at the corner of Saint-Marc and Sainte-Catherine streets, in the Ville-Marie borough. The police are actively searching for a suspect, no arrests having been made.
The victim suffered superficial injuries and was transported to a hospital when the police arrived at the scene of the crime, around 11 p.m. We don’t fear for our life.
The assault took place during an altercation that would have degenerated, says Jean-Pierre Brabant, media relations officer at the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM). The circumstances of this altercation are still unclear.
An investigation is underway. The police will look in particular at the tapes of the surrounding surveillance cameras this morning in order to establish a description of the suspect.
