Secuoya Studios will receive the MIP SDG Award 2025 at MIPCOM Cannes in recognition of its sustainable production program. The award, presented in association with the United Nations, recognizes companies advancing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals through their work in television and streaming.
The Madrid studio, whose productions include series like Shades (Matices), Montecristo And Zorohas become one of the leading advocates of environmentally friendly production practices in Spain. The award recognizes Secuoya’s initiatives, including the Greenbook Sustainable Filming Protocol, developed with the eco-consulting firm Ms. Greenfilm; the creation of a sustainable management label, the first independently audited environmental certification of this type in Spain; and the creation of a department dedicated to sustainable development which assigns an Eco Manager to each production.
βAt Secuoya Studios, we view sustainability as a guiding commitment that shapes how we create, produce and share content with the world,β said Brendan Fitzgerald, CEO of Secuoya, in a statement. “It is a commitment based on belief in innovation, technology and strategic alliances that generate lasting change. Beyond the honor itself, having this stage at MIPCOM allows us to demonstrate how universally adoptable many of these practices can be.”
The award will be presented at MIPCOM in Cannes on October 15 by Caroline Petit, Deputy Director of the United Nations Regional Information Center for Europe, during a session on industry sustainability practices. Previous recipients of the MIP SDG Award include A+E Networks, Sky and Studio Silverback.
MIPCOM Cannes 2025 will take place from October 13 to 16.
